Music as Therapy Meme.

Well, we all know I'm technically rubbish and regularly reach the limit where my brain explodes since venturing into the blogging /Tweeting world and today is no exception.

I have managed the links to my Music for Therapy choices, as started by Mammywoo and tagged by Rebecca at Here Come the Girls!, thank you very much, but I am failing to get up the Video pics that everyone else has managed to!  Why? Because I am an older single mum and our fuses / attention spans are well spent by now on a good day, but here we go:

The first, Jon Bon Jovi - Hallelujah soothes me when the day's tensions have become too much.  I don't really know what the words mean and there seem too many to print them here.  A gander at Jon Bon Jovi is always worthwhile and it is like he is giving you a big hug, so who can complain about that?  The music is outstanding and absolutely beautiful.

If you are ever struggling to get going in the morning / any other time, then this will no doubt help your cause:  Ride on Time -by Black Box.  I know it's old, but its great piano will get you in the groove before you know it.  It's a screamer, brilliant before going out on the town (something I can barely remember) and will definitely get you dancing anywhere or with anyone - or even better - alone, so long as you can just go for it!

My last choice had such dodgy sound on the You Tube link it wasn't really worth it, so I have printed the lyrics of the song instead.  There are many versions, so you'll probably recognise it, but my favourite is by Barbra Streisand.  Those of us who've had a baby or any Spiritual experiences will believe in a power greater than ourselves.  Even though we can't explain it, we can feel it and it is a constant source of comfort to many of us (see Is Life Like a Sat. Nav? for a sort of musing on this matter.).

This song is especially good to bear in mind when we're knackered and / or overwhelmed and / or as we approach THAT time of year.  Sorry that it's mushy.  It simply can't be helped and it is a Music as Therapy meme.

"I Believe"

I believe for every drop of rain that falls
A flower grows,
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night
A candle glows,
I believe for everyone who goes astray,
Someone will come to show the way,
I believe, I believe.

I believe above the storm a smallest prayer
Will still be heard,
I believe that someone in the great somewhere
Hears every word,
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry,
Or touch a leaf, or see the sky,
Then I know why,
I believe.

Every time I hear a newborn baby cry,
Or touch a leaf, or see the sky,
Then I know why,
I believe.
